We recognize Bob Recko with our Faculty of the Quarter honor. It is fitting that he is our first recipient because he is also our first faculty member. Bob has been instructing HVACReducation.net students since the beginning of time (or so he will claim). He has provided valuable input and leadership in the online
effort and continues to develop content and teach students. We appreciate his commitment to his students and the past, present and future of online learning for the HVACR industry. Way to Go and Thank You!
Bob Recko brings over thirty years of HVACR Industry experience into the classroom, with the insight that only experience can deliver. Starting out his training at the Northeast Institute of Industrial Technology with a Certificate in Air Conditioning and
Refrigeration, Bob spent the first eight years working for Westinghouse Electric as a Refrigeration Technician. Sensing a need for further career opportunities, Bob worked towards Certification by the State of Massachusetts as a Vocational Instructor and began his first teaching position in HVACR at Bay Path Vocational
High School in Charlton, MA. In 1986 Bob started a Post Secondary HVACR Program at the Worcester Technical Institute in Worcester, MA. After 12 years at WTI, Bob is presently building another new program at the Worcester Vocational High School, which, like WTI, is part of the Worcester Public Schools.
Through 23 years of teaching, Bob has always managed to keep his hand in the practical arts of the HVACR field, which enables him to stay current with the many technological developments. At the schools where he worked, Bob has run many adult programs, that were always well received. In recent years, Bob has been active
in EPA 608 Certification and Training as well as NATE Certification Training. Bob is also an Educational consultant to industry, providing custom designed programs to fit the needs of individual companies that require specialized training for their employees. Other recent involvement includes working with and developing
training for the Northeast Chapter of the ACCA designed to help member contractors train employees to meet their needs.
As the technologies and times have changed, so has Bob’s educational focus. Online learning is not really that new, but Bob sees a big future for it in HVACR in the years ahead. Bob received training and a Certificate in the Online Instructor Training Program from Convene.com and conducts online Professional Development
for the Worcester Public Schools. He is a member of the Online Faculty at BritannicaU.com. and is the manager of Worcester Vocational High Schools Virtual Education Space (VES).
Bob is extremely pleased to be part of hvacreducation.net and looks forward to meeting you and helping students progress in their HVACR careers.
