Hello, I am Phil Rains, the Master Trainer / Technical Developer for HVACReducation.net. I joined the company after eight years with International Comfort Products, LLC (ICP) as a Technical Instructor. In that position, I researched, proposed,
prepared and delivered seminars nationwide providing product education to influence sales, proper system installation, and proper servicing of heating and cooling equipment. I made many friendships during this time with company owners, technical advisors, and technicians. I enjoyed every minute of my time in this position, especially
with the students. As I delight with working with people, my position as an instructor for ICP, and now with HVACReducation.net were, and are, perfectly matched with my personal goals.
Along my road to joining HVACReducation.net, I had the opportunity to serve as a sales manager, a product manager, a marketing manager, a program administrator and a designer in the HVACR field, beginning over 35 years ago. These positions gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge base while allowing me to provide education to those
in need. I have always enjoyed education, especially the moment when a student understands a concept.
For students to know, I started my working career as an HVACR Technician, where I mastered the craft with my own two hands. Knowledge is power, but touching equipment gave me unique insights into what students need to know as well. Then, providing personal attention to their education needs gave me continual fulfillment. Teaching is
learning, so if I ever get to the point where I am incapable of learning, I will stop working all together.
I have a Bachelor of Science from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee and am working toward my MBA. I maintain professional affiliations with ACCA, RSES, ASHRAE, NATE, and the EPA. I enjoy writing curriculum and presenting programs in person or online.
As this dynamic industry has changed over the years, I have endeavored to keep abreast of the latest innovations in the HVACR field. Hopefully, I can help students focus their efforts on a successful career in this exciting field.
When I’m not working or learning something new, I enjoy being with my wife and trying to stay fit. Our grandchildren keep us busy as well.
I am extremely happy to be part of HVACReducation.net with their goal of providing unique opportunities to traditional students as well as non-degree seeking students and contractors in the industry. I am here to serve the one I really work for, the student.
